Minister of Communication receives delegation from CNN media group

The Minister of Communication, Mohamed Meziane, received a delegation from the CNN media group on Monday in Algiers, with whom he discussed prospects for partnership in the field of media and information, according to a statement from the ministry.

The delegation consisted of the director at CNN International responsible for strategic partnerships for the Middle East and Africa, Walid Chamak, and the vice-president in charge of strategic partnerships within the same group, Oikonomou Konstantinos, the statement specified.

This meeting provided "an opportunity to discuss partnership prospects in the field of information," the same source continued, noting "the media delegation's intention to establish a partnership with Algeria in the areas of information and public relations, with the possibility of opening a CNN channel office in Algeria, as well as creating a branch of the channel's digital platform dedicated to regional affairs."

In the same vein, "it is planned to expand the prospects for media cooperation between Algerian media institutions and the CNN group, particularly through a partnership with the Public Television Corporation (EPTV) and an opening to the international scene in collaboration with Algerian universities," the text added.

Furthermore, the media delegation reviewed the prospects for training between Algeria and the group, through the establishment of an academy for training journalists and media sector professionals, the statement concluded.
