
The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received at the Ministry's headquarters on Thursday the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Badr Abdel-Atty, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a Ministry press release.
The meeting provided an opportunity “to review the various axes and dimensions of fraternal and cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries, and to examine ways of boosting them in preparation for upcoming events, notably those relating to the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Commission”.
The two ministers also discussed “various current issues in their regional neighborhood, in particular the existential risks threatening the Palestinian question, as well as developments in the sister state of Libya, in addition to the crises looming over a number of Arab countries”, reads the ministry's press release.
In this connection, the two ministers stressed “the need to strengthen the traditions of consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries in the various areas of their common Arab and African membership”, the statement concluded.
