Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra signed on Wednesday, in the name of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at Kenya’s embassy in Algeria, the book of condolences following the death of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, the ministry said in a statement.
Lamamra extended, on behalf of President of the Republic, his “heartfelt condolences to the friendly Kenyan Republic, Presidency, Government and People,” underlining “the qualities of the deceased, who was the country’s third President from 2003 and 2013” and praising, in the same context, “the mark he left on the national and continental levels, as well as on the historical relations of fraternity and cooperation between Algeria and Kenya,” said the source.
The minister also hailed “the noble principles and values between the two brotherly countries stemming from their common struggle for liberation,” added the source.
