Raouya, IsDB’s Waleed Addas discuss enhancement of bilateral ties

Finance Minister, Abderrahmane Raouya received Tuesday the Head of the Regional Hub of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Waleed Addas, with whom he discussed the ways to boost bilateral cooperation, said the ministry in a communiqué.

“Raouya and Addas discussed the ways to boost cooperation between our country and the IsDB,” said the source.

The cooperation between Algeria and the IsDB Group “is mainly based on technical support and exchange of practices in key development fields,” recalled the ministry’s communiqué.

The Finance minister, in his capacity as Governor for Algeria within the IsDB Group, “expressed his satisfaction with cooperation ties between Algeria and the IsDB,” stressing the reforms the Government has undertaken to boost economic growth through investments in added-value sectors,” said the source.

In this regard, Raouya urged the IsDB representative to “further support Algeria through sharing experience and know-how.”

For his part, Addas reiterated “the willingness of the bank to support Algeria in its development program to address the challenges induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.”

He also referred to the programs drafted by the IsDB to support member countries in light of recent developments on the international scene.

The two sides “agreed on the development of a multi-year cooperation program between Algeria and the IsDB in banking

finance, and other business-related fields,” said the source.
