Attaf receives his Iranian counterpart

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a brotherly country, Abbas Araghchi, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a statement from the ministry.

On this occasion, the Minister of State held head to head talks with his Iranian counterpart, followed by an expanded working session that included members of the delegations from both countries, the same source specified.

These discussions allowed both parties to "review the various aspects and dimensions of the relations between Algeria and Iran and to examine ways to strengthen them," the statement noted.

The two sides also addressed developments in the Middle East in general, and the dangerous escalation of the Palestinian issue in particular, especially in light of the ongoing despicable aggression against the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the same source added.
