At the Abdelkrim Kerroum Stadium of Sig, on the occasion of the first day (Gr.A) of the tournament of the Mediterranean Games JM-2022 of Oran, the national soccer squad for under-18s (U18) accomplished a fantastic feat by dominating Spain 1-0 (halftime: 1-0).

The beginning of the game was to the advantage of the Spaniards, who managed to be more threatening, but without being able to concretize their domination.

The first alert of the game was the work of the FC Barcelona (B) Fabio Blanco Gomez (5th), whose shot in the area was well captured by the Algerian keeper Hamza Boualem (USM Alger).

On the Algerian side, the players of the national coach Yacine Slatni have suffered the game set up by the "Roja", while being uninspired on the offensive side, since no opportunity was provided until the 26th minute of play.

While the Spaniards multiplied the attacks, it is more the Greens who managed to open the score against the course of play, under the gaze of the national coach Djamel Belmadi, through the offensive midfielder of AC Ajaccio (France) Mehdi Push-Herrantz, the latter managed to deceive the vigilance of the Spanish goalkeeper Astralaga Aranguren of a sumptuous shot at the entrance of the surface.

This achievement gave wings to the Algerians, who completely freed themselves by organizing their game better.

After the break, the Spanish could not react to an Algerian team determined to succeed in its debut in the tournament, while showing solidity on the defensive side.

CR Belouizdad defender Fouad Hanfoug left the field with an injury in the 72nd minute and was replaced by Adam Ghybril Djadi (Bourg-en-Bresse/ France).

The other match of the group A will oppose tonight France to Morocco at the Sig stadium (20h00).

In the second day scheduled for Tuesday, Algeria will face Morocco at the Sig stadium (17:00), while France will face Spain at the Ahmed-Zabana stadium (20:00).

The first two of each group qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for Saturday, July 2, while the final will be played Tuesday, July 5 at the Olympic Complex Miloud-Hadefi (20:00).
