
The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received the Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisashi Matsumoto, at the Ministry's headquarters on Sunday, on an official visit to Algeria, according to a Ministry press release.
“This visit is part of the first session of the Joint Algerian-Japanese Intergovernmental Economic Committee, which was co-chaired by the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane,” the statement said.
Mr. Attaf's meeting with Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs provided an opportunity to “review the results of the Joint Intergovernmental Economic Committee and reaffirm the importance of combining the efforts of both parties to give new impetus to the Algerian-Japanese partnership, particularly in its economic aspect, in line with the development priorities and objectives of both countries”, adds the same source.
The two sides also discussed “a number of topical international and regional issues, including developments in the Palestinian question”, the press release concludes.
