
A total of 23,486,061 voters in the country and 865,490 abroad have registered to vote in the presidential election scheduled for September 7, according to the results of the exceptional revision of the electoral rolls announced on Wednesday by the Independent National Elections Authority (INEA).
At a press briefing held at the “Abdelatif-Rahal” International Conference Center (ICC), Mr. Mohamed Charfi, Chairman of INEA, announced that "the electorate, in anticipation of the presidential election, amounts to 23,486,061 voters within the country, 47% of whom are women and 53% men, while the number of voters aged under 40 is 36%".
The number of voters abroad is “865,490, of whom 45% are women and 55% men, with 15% under the age of 40”.
