Government meeting: creation of two import/export authorities discussed

Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui chaired ,wednesday, May 21, 2025,a Government meeting focused on reviewing regulatory frameworks for two national bodies responsible for imports and exports, as well as the transfer of state-owned private land for real estate development projects. The meeting also included presentations on enhancing grain storage capacities and the mobile phone manufacturing and assembly project in Algeria, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

The Government examined the regulatory framework for the creation, organization, and operation of two national bodies tasked with managing imports and exports, in line with President Tebboune’s instructions on organizing foreign trade.

Additionally, to finalize the management approach for state-owned economic land, the Government reviewed regulations outlining the conditions and procedures for granting concessions convertible into transfers of state-owned private land for commercial real estate projects.

In support of the President’s commitments to ensure food security, a presentation detailed progress on the national program to increase grain storage capacity from 4 to 9 million tons.

Finally, the Government reviewed progress on the smartphone investment project, including mobile phone manufacturing and assembly in Algeria, aimed at developing this national industry, promoting technology transfer and localization, and involving national expertise, particularly youth, in the process.
