Army General Saïd Chanegriha on a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region

Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), began a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran on Monday, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).

“As part of monitoring the second phase of combat preparation programs for the 2024-2025 year, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Deputy Minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the ANP, commenced a working and inspection visit to the 2nd Military Region in Oran starting today, Monday, May 26, 2025,” the statement specified.

Upon arrival, and after “the welcome ceremony conducted by Major General Mohamed Tayeb Brakni, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, the Army General observed a moment of reflection in memory of the martyr Ahmed Boudjenane, known as ‘Si Abbès,’ whose name adorns the headquarters of the command.”

The Army General then laid a wreath at the martyr’s commemorative stele and recited the Fatiha from the Holy Quran in memory of him and the valiant martyrs, the statement added.

Subsequently, the Army General held a meeting with the cadres and personnel of the 2nd Military Region, during which he delivered a speech broadcast via videoconference to all units in the region. He stated that “among the harvests and fruits of success inherited by the ANP from its valiant forebears of the National Liberation Army is its constant aspiration to meet the demands of its national duty and noble constitutional missions.”

“Among the harvests and fruits of success inherited by the ANP from its valiant forebears of the National Liberation Army is its constant aspiration to meet the demands of its national duty and noble constitutional missions, which primarily consist of defending the homeland, ensuring national unity, preserving its resources, and safeguarding its national sovereignty and the freedom of its decision-making,” the Army General affirmed.

“To this end, it relies on the readiness of its defense system, which we have carefully built with a balanced approach between, on one hand, acquiring combat skills, operational experience, and a high level of professionalism, and on the other, instilling in hearts and minds the values of national belonging, loyalty to the martyrs’ oath, and the duty of sacrifice to raise high Algeria’s eternal banner and defend its republican order,” he added.

The Army General also emphasized that “he was deeply convinced that Algeria will remain strong as long as it stays committed to preserving the martyrs’ oath, and that its enemies, like their predecessors throughout history, will continue to taste the bitterness of defeat.”

“We are deeply convinced that as long as Algeria remains faithful to the martyrs’ oath, and as long as sincere patriots, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, steadfastly and resolutely pursue their path toward comprehensive national renaissance, Algeria will continue to progress economically and rise strategically. Meanwhile, its enemies, like their predecessors throughout history, will drag the remnants of their failure, taste the bitterness of defeat, and suffer the reversal of their vile plots,” he asserted.

Following the meeting, “the personnel of the 2nd Military Region expressed their concerns and interests, affirming their full readiness to carry out the noble missions assigned to them in service of Algeria,” the statement noted.

Thereafter, the Army General, “accompanied by the Commander of the 2nd Military Region and the Director of Military Justice, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Oran Military Court of Appeal, where he received detailed explanations about the facilities of this achievement, which aims to strengthen rights and freedoms and streamline second-instance appeal procedures,” the MDN concluded.
