More than 25.5 million people live below the poverty line in Yemen, due to the impact of the war in the country, which has lasted for more than seven years, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The organisation said in a tweet on Friday that "the war in Yemen has generated the worst humanitarian crisis, where 25.5 million people, out of a total population of 30 million, live below the poverty line".
"The war has displaced more than 4 million Yemenis, while two million children are deprived of education," IOM said. He added: "the Yemeni people need our support more than ever".
Yemen has been at war for almost seven years. Some 377,000 people have died and 80% of the population, or about 30 million people, have become dependent on - aid and subsidies, in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, according to the United Nations.
