Palestine : Nearly 500 Palestinian detainees continue boycott of Zionist courts

Some 500 Palestinians continued their boycott of the Zionist occupation courts on Saturday for the 92nd consecutive day, in protest against the policy of administrative detention.

The Palestinians detainees, who have often resorted to unlimited hunger strikes to protest against this illegal practice, are protesting against "blind support" from the Zionist courts to the policy that keeps Palestinians in administrative detention for several months in a row, according to the Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

They say that their action "is a continuation of the long-standing Palestinian efforts" to put an end to this "unjust policy, practised against our people by the occupying forces".

The boycott includes hearings to approve or renew the administrative detention order, as well as appeal hearings and subsequent sessions at the Supreme Court.

Widely condemned, administrative detention is the arrest and detention of a person, without charge or trial, for an indefinite period, renewable indefinitely. This practice has also become an element of pressure against the Palestinians.
