Territory and sovereignty

Denunciations of atrocities, expressions of support, and intentions to recognize the State of Palestine dominate the headlines, with hopes that concrete actions can help end the suffering of Gaza’s population. Additionally, diplomats are intensifying efforts within the political and international movement to implement the two-state solution. Positions and decisions by states and organizations aim to strengthen commitments aligned with international law to restore Palestinian sovereignty over their territories. Further support is voiced for the rights of a people continuing their struggle to secure freedom in the face of the longest military and colonial occupation in modern history. Palestine is achieving diplomatic victories, leveraging them as arguments to bolster its positions on the international stage, paving the way for further recognitions. These are expected to be formalized at the upcoming international conference on implementing the two-state solution, scheduled for June 17 in New York, with participation from numerous countries. These nations also advocate for actions to redouble efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, halt civilian massacres, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. Widespread public support for these initiatives is evident, as confirmed by numerous solidarity demonstrations worldwide. Massive marches have been organized to denounce the war of extermination waged by the Zionist occupation forces since October 2023. States and international organizations are called upon to adopt firm stances to protect human rights and to issue a call to end arms exports to the Zionist entity. An immediate ceasefire is also demanded, along with permission for humanitarian aid convoys to pass. However, this aid has become a tool of blackmail, with the Zionist entity deliberately exploiting the famine it has created in the Gaza Strip to punish Palestinians and attempt to crush their resistance. Palestinian authorities hope the international community will act urgently to prevent further deterioration of the situation. The acts committed by the occupier constitute war crimes, with horrific pressures exerted on the population, ranging from assassinations and deliberate starvation to the destruction of all infrastructure essential to the lives of residents.
