Principles and pragmatism

Many organizations emphasize that the barbaric aggression by the Zionist entity makes strengthening solidarity more urgent than ever to support Palestinian demands for the withdrawal of occupying forces. These forces intensify airstrikes, causing numerous civilian casualties. The genocidal war in Gaza has led to massive damage in populated areas, annihilating all means of survival through the destruction of civilian infrastructure like hospitals. Even healthcare and humanitarian aid teams have not escaped the massacre. Socially, the situation is equally catastrophic for educational infrastructure. Civilians and their essential infrastructure lack any protection. The social categories in Gaza now consist of the dead, injured, disabled, displaced, and starving, resulting in the total breakdown of the human fabric. Populations have a right to protection during wartime, but the occupying forces completely disregard this principle, necessitating international efforts to enforce it. Yet, there is complete impotence in this regard. The aggressor flouts international law, increasingly targeting civilians directly. The prolonged siege of Gaza aims to terrorize and force people to abandon their land. Many African, American, and Asian countries, known for their steadfast defense of just causes and peoples’ struggles for emancipation, particularly the Palestinian cause, have tirelessly called for an end to the aggression and the withdrawal of occupying forces.

In all countries, development is measured by indicators. In Gaza, underdevelopment must be measured due to the prevailing crises. Poverty and hunger are surging as infrastructure is destroyed, leading to shortages in healthcare, education, and social protection. The humanitarian crisis endangers thousands of lives, with declining living standards as evidence—when people are still alive. The toll of the genocidal aggression on Gaza continues to rise, threatening to extinguish all hope of survival.
