Out of words

In light of what is happening in Palestine, there is undeniably a war of extermination. All forms of repression are being employed, from assassination to starvation, deportation, and collective punishment. In Gaza, humanitarian aid is inaccessible due to a total blockade that has persisted for months, representing just one facet of the Zionist aggression. Even in this context, debates about the sustainability of UNRWA rage on amid the risk of its dissolution, despite it being the only organization tasked with managing humanitarian aid—or at least what little remains of humanitarian supplies. UNRWA is not the only organization targeted to stifle all forms of life in Palestine. NGOs addressing the health conditions of the population are also among the targets. Even rescuers are not spared from bombings and soldiers’ gunfire. “We are running out of words, as every day new lives are shattered,” laments one organization. There have been numerous global expressions of outrage over the mass killings, but not enough pressure has been exerted to end the massacre. On the contrary, Zionist forces are intensifying their attacks across the Gaza Strip, and no official has yet been held accountable for these acts, which are condemned under international law. In many countries, there is a disconnect between the actions of the masses in support of Palestine and political authorities reluctant to follow this trend, with some preferring to side with the aggressor. All opportunities for a united front against the aggression have failed. Such division cannot serve the Palestinian cause. For months, there has been no access to medical care due to a lack of medicine, nor is there enough food. The coming days will be absolutely critical. There will inevitably come a moment when “we will run out of medical supplies and other aid,” organizations emphasize, noting that it is unacceptable that humanitarian aid is not allowed to enter the Gaza Strip. Generally, the conclusion of all parties supporting the Palestinian cause focuses on calls to end colonization. It is colonization that is responsible for all the misfortunes of the Palestinians, starting with the genocide they are enduring. Since the Second World War, the term genocide has never been used in its full scope or carried its true weight.
