The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered at the meeting of the Council of Ministers he chaired on Sunday, not to ban import operations of raw materials used in production and vital industries, said a statement from the Council of Ministers.
After listening to a presentation on measures to regulate and monitor import operations, the President of the Republic ordered “not to ban import operations for raw materials used in the production chain and vital industries. The rest of import operations are subject to prior authorization”, says the same source.
The President of the Republic affirmed that Algeria had never prohibited and would not prohibit imports, adding that it resorted to them only if necessary, with the aim of promoting national production and protecting its financial reserves, which is capable of strengthening its economy and preserving its stability, the press release concludes.
