The 2025 edition of the Professional Agri-Food Production Trade Fair (Djazagro) will take place from April 7 to 10 at the Palais des Expositions - Pins-Maritimes in Algiers, with the participation of 650 national and international exhibitors, according to a statement from the event organizers.
This new edition will be "an opportunity to highlight the most significant advancements in the sector and provide the 650 exhibitors, representing 36 countries, as well as the expected 23,000 visitors, with a conducive environment for exchanges and business development, with particular attention to a key link in the supply chain: packaging," the same source specified.
Co-organized by Comexposium and Promosalons Algérie, this professional event is exclusively dedicated to manufacturing exhibitors, of which 25% are Algerian manufacturers and 75% come from foreign countries, primarily Italy, China, France, and Turkey.
These exhibitors operate in sectors representative of the agri-food industry, including packaging and conditioning, equipment and machinery for agri-food processing, bakery and pastry, handling and storage, hospitality and catering, food transformation, food products and beverages, as well as raw materials, ingredients, and additives. This year, Djazagro will place a special emphasis on the importance of the packaging sector, the statement noted, highlighting that this sector "plays a decisive role in the transformation and valorization of agri-food products" and represents "a strategic challenge in the distribution chain, including internationally."
In this context, the fair will host "Djaz’Pack," a dedicated packaging space focusing on sustainable materials and innovative techniques shaping the future of the sector. Additionally, the "Djaz’Innov" competition, which rewards the most promising innovations contributing to the dynamism and competitiveness of the Algerian agri-food industry, is expected to take place.
This edition has already shortlisted 18 applications, with final deliberations determining the winners, who will be awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals, as well as a "Jury’s Favorite" prize.
In parallel, the fair will host a meeting called "L’Agora des Experts," bringing together specialists to share their insights and expertise on market trends and challenges, as well as another space reserved for training, led by educational and continuous learning institutions.
Regarded as the benchmark fair for all stakeholders in the agri-food sector in Algeria and North Africa for over 20 years, Djazagro will also feature a rich program of conferences, demonstrations, and networking opportunities, the same source further emphasized.
