Algeria will be the guest of honour at the 29th Beijing International Book Fair (Republic of China), from 15 to 18 June, indicated yesterday a press release from the Ministry of Culture. Algeria will be represented "by a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Arts, composed of great names in the field of letters and arts, in addition to an exhibition of Algerian publications and books", states the press release. "The welcome given to Algeria by China at the 29th session of the Beijing International Book Fair, under the slogan "Algiers-Beijing : crossroads of culture and civilisations", comes in the context of strengthening of cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries, proof of the depth of bilateral relations", according to the same source. China was the guest of honour at the 23rd Algiers International Book Fair (Sila) in 2018, to mark the 60th anniversary of Sino-Algerian relations. More than 200,000 Chinese and foreign books will be on display at the 29th session of the Beijing International Book Fair, in addition to a Virtual Fair to showcase emerging forms of publication.
